June 5th through July 9th, hubby George Snider and I were on the road. George is always amuzed by the number of guys he meets who say their marriages would not survive being with their ladies 24/7 for that many days. George simply shrugs his shoulders and says, "That's too bad." Don't get me wrong, I have a fair compliment of friends and family who wonder how I survive 24/7 with George. Rest assured a road trip is the true test of soulmate compatability. George and I are indeed a good match.
This year's road trip did have some goals. For example, I want to travel to each of the 50 United States. Another goal was to visit with family and friends wherever we traveled. And lastly, we wanted to make some new friends. Knocking off Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, Alaska will be my 50th state visit. We enjoyed seeing family in Oklahoma, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Kansas; In Wisconsin, I actually met family. And, yes, everywhere we went, George and I made new friends.
For anyone who knows me, they may agree that on June 5th, I was a "sick puppy." Physically, mentally, and emotionally I was "stick a fork in me, I'm done" fried. It's amazing what 7,792 miles can do to reset one's clock. I was on the extended, "Wanna Get Away" and I was not flying Southwest; just driving along in my 2003 Honda Odyssey with hubby George to share the path.
We had a wonderful few days with George's sister, Cheryl, and our son RJ. we'll have to go back and spend some more time there.

Certainly one of the highlights of our trip was being pretty much off the grid with Paul Snider Sr. Paul is about 45-minutes from Springfield, Missouri about 5-miles from any substantial internet. Without his hotspot, the rest of the family and friends might think George and I had dropped off the edge of the world. Yet it was in the quiet of Paul's Country Resort and Spa that the most healing came.
For me, most days started with a 6,200 step walk. Following a shower so that the dogs Piper and Bear wouldn't howl, I'd create my own Starbucks Skinny Sweet Cream Vanilla Cold Brew and sit for a morning chat with Paul while George finished his sleep. With my hubby's blessing, Paul, the family energy shaman worked his magic. In seven days, I was actually walking like a normal person. I experience some astral traveling. And all three of us shared some EFT tapping that was better than taking a long overdue trip to the dump.....

We also shared some other amusements. Paul introduced us to the Hillbilly Speedway. One trip to Naomi's Cafe was not enough; we had three or four. And if you can imagine, the profound quiet of the counrty was entertaining.
After we visited Indiana, Wisconsin, and MInnesota, George and I somehow ended up back at Paul's for another couple days. It was a good choice. Not only am I walking like a normal person, I can touch my toes without bending my legs for the first time in more than a decade. And, I pretty much have equal feeling in both legs. Thank you, Paul. Thank you, Universe of Healing....

We left Paul's July 1st or so. From there, it was a whirlwind of stops as we headed west. we spent a wonderful family night at Uncle Merle and Aunt Lucille's in Augusta, Kansas. Because we wanted to do the trolley tour in Dodge City, Kansas, we spent the night at one of our best Orbitz lodging finds, Dodge House and Convention Center; it doesn't look like much on the outside but the indoor recreation facilities are phenomenal. We spent 4th of July with our Granddaughter Kymberley and her fiance, Mark. The next night was at Grand Junction, Colorado. We took a beautiful drive along the Colorado River to Arches National Park having lunch at the Sorrel River Ranch. The next day we visited the Tabernacle and Temple City in Salt Lake City, Utah. The next to the last day of our travels we visited with RJ's Grandma Linda and saw our cat Smokey's reincarnation. On our way into California, George got in one more round of golf at Nevada's Dayton Valley Golf Club. We had dinner in Lake Tahoe, arriving home about 9:00pm on July 9th.
And to date, I am still walking like a normal person and can touch my toes without bending my legs. Sweet! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love, light, and laughter, George Snider.
