The Road Trip to Health and Serenity

June 5th through July 9th, hubby George Snider and I were on the road. George is always amuzed by the number of guys he meets who say their marriages would not survive being with their ladies 24/7 for that many days. George simply shrugs his shoulders and says, "That's too bad." Don't get me wrong, I have a fair compliment of friends and family who wonder how I survive 24/7 with George. Rest assured a road trip is the true test of soulmate compatability. George and I are indeed a good match.

This year's road trip did have some goals. For example, I want to travel to each of the 50 United States. Another goal was to visit with family and friends wherever we traveled. And lastly, we wanted to make some new friends. Knocking off Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, Alaska will be my 50th state visit. We enjoyed seeing family in Oklahoma, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Kansas; In Wisconsin, I actually met family. And, yes, everywhere we went, George and I made new friends.

For anyone who knows me, they may agree that on June 5th, I was a "sick puppy." Physically, mentally, and emotionally I was "stick a fork in me, I'm done" fried. It's amazing what 7,792 miles can do to reset one's clock. I was on the extended, "Wanna Get Away" and I was not flying Southwest; just driving along in my 2003 Honda Odyssey with hubby George to share the path.

We had a wonderful few days with George's sister, Cheryl, and our son RJ. we'll have to go back and spend some more time there.

Certainly one of the highlights of our trip was being pretty much off the grid with Paul Snider Sr. Paul is about 45-minutes from Springfield, Missouri about 5-miles from any substantial internet. Without his hotspot, the rest of the family and friends might think George and I had dropped off the edge of the world. Yet it was in the quiet of Paul's Country Resort and Spa that the most healing came.

For me, most days started with a 6,200 step walk. Following a shower so that the dogs Piper and Bear wouldn't howl, I'd create my own Starbucks Skinny Sweet Cream Vanilla Cold Brew and sit for a morning chat with Paul while George finished his sleep. With my hubby's blessing, Paul, the family energy shaman worked his magic. In seven days, I was actually walking like a normal person. I experience some astral traveling. And all three of us shared some EFT tapping that was better than taking a long overdue trip to the dump.....

We also shared some other amusements. Paul introduced us to the Hillbilly Speedway. One trip to Naomi's Cafe was not enough; we had three or four. And if you can imagine, the profound quiet of the counrty was entertaining.

After we visited Indiana, Wisconsin, and MInnesota, George and I somehow ended up back at Paul's for another couple days. It was a good choice. Not only am I walking like a normal person, I can touch my toes without bending my legs for the first time in more than a decade. And, I pretty much have equal feeling in both legs. Thank you, Paul. Thank you, Universe of Healing....

We left Paul's July 1st or so. From there, it was a whirlwind of stops as we headed west. we spent a wonderful family night at Uncle Merle and Aunt Lucille's in Augusta, Kansas. Because we wanted to do the trolley tour in Dodge City, Kansas, we spent the night at one of our best Orbitz lodging finds, Dodge House and Convention Center; it doesn't look like much on the outside but the indoor recreation facilities are phenomenal. We spent 4th of July with our Granddaughter Kymberley and her fiance, Mark. The next night was at Grand Junction, Colorado. We took a beautiful drive along the Colorado River to Arches National Park having lunch at the Sorrel River Ranch. The next day we visited the Tabernacle and Temple City in Salt Lake City, Utah. The next to the last day of our travels we visited with RJ's Grandma Linda and saw our cat Smokey's reincarnation. On our way into California, George got in one more round of golf at Nevada's Dayton Valley Golf Club. We had dinner in Lake Tahoe, arriving home about 9:00pm on July 9th.

And to date, I am still walking like a normal person and can touch my toes without bending my legs. Sweet! Thank you, thank you, thank you. Love, light, and laughter, George Snider.

It's the last class on the last day of the quarter. The last bell rings. It's that wonderful time: Fall Break, Winter Break, Spring Break, Summer Break. At home, my hubby, George Snider, has us packed and ready to go wherever is #NotStknNot Lodi.

Don't get me wrong the California Central Valley is a great place to be from. It's also the perfect debarkation. We are: 45-minutes from Sacramento; 90-miles east of San Francisco' 2 1/2 hours to Lakae Tahoe, Yosemite, and Monterey; as well as, 358-miles from Discoveryland.

We are also an hour's drive from our favorite airline at Travis AFB. From there we can go anywhere the U.S. Air Force will let us go. For these two weeks even Mildenhall RAF was a tempting possibility.

After much consideration,  a road trip up US 101 to Washington state won.

When traveling, Self Care Is Essential

Picture
Regardless of how we travel, George Snider and I always are mindful to take our self care technologies on the road. We have two packing lists, road trip and flight manifests. No matter the mode of transportation, we take water, air, sleep, nutrition, and magnet technologies that will ensure we are ready for whatever our travel itinerary holds.

Pictured on the right is our Nikken Sleep System. Underneath Our Nikken conforter and pillows are two single matress toppers that are perfect for a hotel room's queen size bed. When we fly, we have Nikken travel pillows and a travel comforter that easily fits in a suitcase. No matter where we are we get a great night's sleep.

No mater where you are, you can either be a filter or buy a filter. Now, do not kid yourself and think that bottled water will save you. Yes, it's better than drinking out of the faucet, but you really have no idea about how that water was bottled or how long it's been sitting on the shelf. Therefore, I highly recommend taking your own water filter with you. When we are on a road trip, George and I use the same Nikken Waterfall we use at home. Pictured left, if we are in a one night here and one night there mode, we will set-up our Waterfall every three days, filling our PBA Free water bottles that we keep in our cooler. If we are in one place for a few days, we set-up the Waterfall just like we would at home.

eOf course we cannot take our NIkken Waterfall with us when we fly, but we do take our Nikken Sport Bottles. The most awesome thing is that the Sport Bottle can go empty through security and immediately get filled once we get to the other side. A flight attendant can easily fill a Sport Bottle with both ice chips and water. If you pack a few Chlorine Tablets, you can drink freely just about anywhere.

Beyond sleep and water, George and I use a few other NIkken technologies. When on the road, my COPD is rarely an issue thanks to a Nikken Air Filter. Nikken Kenzen Vital Balance and Paleo Bars not only keep our weight in check while traveling, they are sometimes the best meal of the day. And far from least, George and I can do more than most folks our age because we are supported by NIkken Magnet Technologies.
